I had my subaru parts and service dealership order the STI hood scoop for my 03' WRX sedan and now that its arrived he says it wont fit my stock hood, he says there is about a 3/4'' gap on each side of the scoop and that the holes had to be redrilled. Is there a sti wagon scoop that he order by mistake or is my hood just f-ed up?? i really want this scoop, but i have no idea what is goin on. ive read the other threads on this subject and it was always 'piece of cake just 10 bolts and a few push pins' .... um whats the deal with this scoop?

I have the genuine STI hood scoop on my 02 WRX wagon. I believe the hood scoop would be same for all line of WRX 02-03, no matter sedan and wagon.

There should be 3 clips which one at the rear and 2 at the side ( just same as the stock one). So there is a question for your scoop.

The genuine STi Hood scoop should be made by ABS plastic in black color, the box should show the logo of subaru. Some place I know they have replica Sti Hood scoop in white color, THAT IS NOT FACTORY SCOOP!!!

You may post a pic to let me see if the scoop is the one you need.

Anyway, I would suggest you to get the Genuine STI hood scoop splitter (JAPAN SUBARU) along with the sti hood scoop for better performance for intercooler. It costs around $135 from online.

I think I know what the problem is.
If you just ordered it through the dealership, it may be for a 2004 sti.
My buddy at my dealership ordered me one, it did not fit.
I have since allocated one from an e-tailer online.
It fits perfect.

I am looking for an STI Hood Scoop for my 02 Wagon. I have found some but they don't specify whether it will fit on the 02. Can anyone point me to a reliable dealer where I can buy the scoop (and splitter too).

well, i have the first one in North America. MRT in Australia has produced an 04 STI scoop that fits on the 02-03 wrx's hood with no modifications.
