View Full Version : Stupid Header
PlatNmRex 02-11-2008, 05:58 PM What's up all?
So I'm getting on it the other night and I hear what sounds like an exhaust leak under my engine and I immediately think header leak as I have experienced this before.
I take it to an exhaust shop that I know and put it up on the rack. Turns out there's a Huge crack where everything collects together to go to the uppipe!! :dizzy: It's a Borla header too! Time for a new header......
Anyone had any luck with certain aftermarket headers?
BTW it's so bad that my car sounds like its running straight headers and having trouble building any boost :sign0081:
Paul@dbtuned 02-11-2008, 08:21 PM Stock or equal length.
1sick07 02-11-2008, 09:21 PM Yeah dude go unequal, you need the pur back in your exhaust!
SpADeZ_WRX 02-11-2008, 11:00 PM I got your message earlier Brian, sorry I never called you back.
Woodward 02-12-2008, 12:10 AM Stock or unequal length.
:suspicious:
Yeah dude go unequal, you need the pur back in your exhaust!
He's already had unequal lenth headers. Do I have to explain to you what equal lengths are again?
Brian, have you looked into P&P'd stock headers? I just picked up a set a couple weeks ago full P&P'd by Grimmspeed w/ thermal coating and an EGT bung for $200.
1sick07 02-12-2008, 05:38 PM yes please do!! HA HA HA HA
Woodward 02-12-2008, 05:47 PM For example, the Borla WRX headers are unequal length. Then the Perrins are equal length.
Paul@dbtuned 02-12-2008, 08:03 PM :suspicious:
Sorry...I was huffing brake parts cleaner....should have typed "equal length"...like Perrin/APS.
Woodward 02-12-2008, 08:14 PM haha. It's cool. I had to take a second and think about it also.
IMO for the price you can't go wrong with stock P&P'd. Perrins are pretty expensive.
PlatNmRex 02-16-2008, 12:26 PM Woodward,
I'll look into those PandP's headers. 200 bucks is hard to pass up. Paul- I really really want equal length. Unless you or someone out there has a nice set for a VERY nice price though I believe they're a tad out of my budget range.
wrxisthebest 02-16-2008, 12:31 PM dude.. u can see the difference on a dyno with equal length headers...

D. Fantom 05-07-2009, 06:41 PM I hear good things about the Perrin equals. In fact i'll be running them more than likely at some point.
I was always curious if the GT-Specs were any good.
Doesn't Borla back there stuff with a warranty of sorts??? IDk, might have been a different brand touting some high mileage warranty.
Woodward 05-07-2009, 06:51 PM Back from the dead! I thought brian had another crack until I saw the dates of the posts. lol

Woodward 05-08-2009, 12:09 AM I did the same thing. lol
I was like "damn, when was i in a discussion abt headers lately"
JVerma19990 05-14-2009, 12:49 AM I have a Greddy header on my bugeye wagon and i am really happy with it, it has the flex pipes in it also so that it is kinda like the stock and wont crack. but mine cost me 800 shipped so yeah
