255/40/17 on 04 BBS rims fit on stock 03 WRX
I picked up a set of Nexen N3000 tires today. They are 255/40/17. They are 25" diameter by 10.2" wide. On 04 BBS rims they look sweet! No worries about curb rash cause they buldge out a bit.
On my stock height 03 WRX they barely fit. Clear the strut by 1/4" in front and 1/8" in rear. No rub, even on bumps..........

be careful witrh that set up as the minimum recommended wheel width for a 255/40-17 is 8.5" and the 04STi wheel is 7.5" ... .this can cause a catastrophic side wall failure
