I replaced my fog lights w/ driving lights, I used the factory wiring. I want to hook up a relay so the driving lights will come on w/ my high beams and off w/ my high beams, and I want to use the existing switch as a "master" shut off so I can turn them off w/o shutting off my high beams.
Does all this make sense???
Also can I set them up so I can turn my headlights on w/o the ignition being turned om, it is a pain in the @$$ having to turn the key to used my lights
Sorry if this sounds confusing, and thanks in advance!

Hi, I have a 2.5RS and i was wondering if i could wire my fog lights so that they can turn on by themselves, with the parking lights, and with the highlights, as well as normally (just w/reg headlight). Anyone know if i can do this?

With my old car it was as simple as cutting a wire, but I would guess your dealership could give you wiring info and you would be able to figure it out. Of course you would need to take apart your dash and if I remember corectly it was the orange wire.

because about having fog/driving lights on when your high beams are on. i beleive (not 100% sure) that it is a requirement for your fogs to turn off when your high beams turn on (inspection requirement). then again i live in nj and everything is illegal.
but good luck

I live in PA, it also seems like everything is illegal too, it really sucks.
I was playing aroung with my lights and the driving lights that I have do shut off w/ my high beams since I usd the factory wiring for them.
I was thinking, can I leave the lights hooked up like they are, and use a relay, hook it up to the lights, and the wire that turns on my high beams, use that as the "turn on" wire.
Is it llegal to have driging lights on with my high beams?

im honestly not sure what you would need to do to keep both lights on. you have to double check with a lot of wiring becaus im not sure what kind of relays and swtiches are utilized in the stock system.
your best bet it to talk to a mechanic.
also.... i did hear that they must turn off when your high beams go on for inspection (in nj). again, best bet is to either call your local police or dmv for regulations..
good luck

so it is probably best to leave hooked up as is. how about my headlights, can I cut something so I don't need my ignition on to use the lights

you could always do that for both lights. only prob is the only way i can think of to do that is to hard wire to the battery and use either the stock switch (if you know how it works, and what wires to use). just don't forget to turn them off when you leave your car... otherwise have jumper cables handy.
again, best bet is to talk to a mechanic if you want it done right. any modification would probably void certain warranties. and its expensive to replace blown wiring harnesses..
