View Full Version : ED Does it Again! +100000000

So I had a very interesting ordeal with Ed. My first attempt at getting tuned failed because first my switch for the meth injection got loose and shorted. Ed almost got electrocuted when he tried to find the loose wire. We were stuck in the middle of nowhere for a good two hours. Then when we switched the fuse out with another one the switch worked but the pump not so much. After sending the pump back to SMC I went back to Ed. Boy was it an experience. The car runs smoother and pulls stronger than it has ever been before. Thanks ED!

Thanks for the nice review... the car was a lot of fun to tune after we got over the initial issues with the SMC kit and the loose, live wire! I was actually surprised how quick the car was and how conservative I could set the AFR's and still make good power with the 100% meth. This tune is running 11-11.1 a/f with peak boost set at 22psi tapering off to just under 19psi by redline. I attached a boost/afr log if anyone is interested in checking it out.

Thanks

 I don't think I'll ever live that down. Thankfully that was my first, and more importantly, my last high octane "shower" :D

located in the engine bay. it's a direct replacement for your oem windshield wiper fluid tank.

oh will the meth boil?

on my setup I used 50/50 meth and water and never had any problems. Plus if you do a 50/50 mix a 5 gallon tank will last forever. But it also depends on ur driving style. If your always at wot then ur always gonna need to refill. :eyebrows:

p.s. for clarfication the small windshield washer tank would last me a month or more since I was never really in high boost unless I was messing around. But I had a 5gallon tank in my garage full of meth that lasted me forever. since that 5gallon was more like 10gallon since I would only use half in my mix. Plus 5 gallon of meth only cost me about 20bucks.

So how do those dyno numbers posted compare to GST's Mustang Dyno?

VRT MBasile

whats with that bump at 5750rpm? I though you used like uber super duper high smoothing  (seriously though, what does that bump represent?)

320whp on the road dyno software should be good for 112-114mph traps depending on driver.

Thanks

The bump is from noisy data... could be a noisy RPM signal or a bump in the road. I think Jake can attest that the car feels very smooth and that's the important part.

Thanks

oh I had no doubt about it feeling smooth, I'm just still leading how to read the graphs and didnt know if the bump meant anything

I've heard people say "oh ed just uses road tuning software so dont take the numbers to heart"

Well here is some useful info.

My baselines on ed's dyno software were almost exactly the same as all my runs at gst
My best run @gst was identical to that on ed's road tuning software.

I'd say they are just about spot on.........

When I say almost exactly I mean within 1-3 hp/1-3 ft lbs
