Reason for posting in here and not Vendor Forum is that I, Stephen, own the vehicle outright. Once sold money goes to my personal acccount
Plus I do not have a non Vendor account currently
Working on that.
Through the years, IA Performance has helped foster life into this wide hipped beauty. This is a show stopper to say the least. Those that have seen it in person can agree that no expense was spared on the body work. Now, through a turn of events, we have the chassis up for sale. Turn of Events = too many project cars at one time, one has to go! This is a native AZ car, i.e. no rust issues.
Specs:
-2004 Subaru WRX w/ ~23,000 miles
-Chassis, non smoker looks and feels new on the inside.
-Tires have around 2k miles, tons of life left in them. Toyo T1-S 285/35/18.
-Wheels around 2k miles. CCW classics 18x10.5". Offset is +33 If I recall correctly. 5*100. The car has been not been washed in 6 months, wheels will shine right up. No curb rash to rims.
-Brakes
Stoptech 330mm slotted fronts, ~7,000 miles, good life left. 2 piece rotors. Light surface rust from sitting, normal for any car not driven.
Stock WRX rear hubs/brakes/ebrake/rotors/calipers (car had Brembo rears, but have been removed with the 6 speed as well)
-Airbags are perfect, again this was a slow collision.
-Helix DNA Coilovers (we can swap the Helix out for lightly used Ohlins Coilovers to the winner for an added $1,000)
-Front and rear strut bars
-walbro fuel pump (most likely in the tank)
-stock front sway bar and front stock endlinks
Not Included (note, not everything in the photos is included, read this list):
-Electronic Boost Controller
-Clock area gauges and gauge pod (center top of dash)
-Morosso Battery box/battery
-Exhaust
-Motor
-Black/Black Front and rear seats, a set of 2006 WRX TR grey/black seats will be installed for winner. They are rated as a 7 out of 10.
-Tranny/driveshaft/rear diff/axles/shifter/interior shifter trim
-blue fender braces
-Helix Cat back
-Radio Headunit and Speakers
-Trunk Carpet floor and both sides of carpet trunk trim
-no spare tire
-aftermarket sway bars and endlinks
What does the car need?
-Complete drivetrain
-Complete Long block w/ turbo, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, injectors, motor wiring harness, etc. US Sti 2.5L, WRX 2.0L, WRX 2.5L, JDM 2.0L WRX and Sti will all fit. Some need a bit more wiring than others, but very simple none the less.
-5 speed transmission (2002-2005 wrx) or 6speed for the big spenders.
-Driveshaft (I have one here for wrx 5speed, $50 and it's yours)
-Rear r160 wrx MT diff
-Rear r160 axles
-Radiator
-condensor
-body work
-misc hoses here and there
Pricing:
$6000 is the price I will accept. Although once the price surpases that on Ebay then the $6,000 deal goes away.
History of car:Custom widebody kit, front and rear fenders and rear doors. The car uses otherwise stock parts, stock hood, stock headlights, stock bumpers (slightly flared with heat gun), etc. The total cost of doing this transformation cost $20,000. The fenders are resting on the car in the photos, when bolted up they fit like a factory piece. Shoot, even the word SUBARU is stamped in them, there was no cost spared in making this car. I can put you in touch with the owner of the molds as well, they are not included in auction. Pre accident the car had $40,000 invested in it plus the cost of the WRX. Unfortunately, it was only insured to cost of stock WRX. This is why it totaled out with such little damage (see race motor cost)
Demise of car:
The demise of the car came in the form of icy roads and a pole at 20mph. There was no crash beam due to FMIC installed. Damage was received on the Left Driver side which pushed through to the timing covers of the motor. The car was totaled since the high value ($10,000) Race motor did not make it through the crash (timing assembly broke, killed valves, etc). The frame has already been pulled/straightened (bent left beam, finger points to it) by Vanderpool Auto Refinishing in Tucson, AZ. The car will need some new front end sheet metal as well as assorted bumper parts and hood. The front fenders survived for the most part. They will need light fiberglass repair. Every other panel on the car (from firewall back) is rated as a 9 out of 10, if not 10 out of 10. This is a show quality car from the front doors back. Took 1st place its first time out at HIN.
