Did you reuse the OE gasket?

More importantly, why did you put it on in the first place?

Check if anything if anything is loose. Reset ECU and try again. If it still running like **** your car doesn't like it might want to try another BOV.

sounds like the bov may not be seated properly and is giving you this problem.

The simplest solution? Remove the POS... I mean BOV, and run over it a couple times. That'll sort it right out.

Most newbs dont know that the OEM BOV is the best. U only need an aftermarket one if ur running custom I/C plumbing and bigger boost. If u want great BOV sound just run a cold air intake. Youll get better performance as well!!!

1. There could be a chance that the bov (threadcreator) bought is a recirc or half half or vent all the way.
2. Maybe it wasn't installed right.

*3. Calling someone a newb or implying isn't really nice when your giving flase info.

Supporting *3, quote (with some english corrections): If you want the great bov sound, just run a cold air intake... end quote. First off, no. Quote 2: You will get better performance as well (with 3 !'s) end quote. Secondly, I'm going to hate to do this but... the search button is a great friend for life.

Ans: search button.

jk (only about search)

But your right, CAI will increase the sound of a BPV which will lead you to BAD A/F unless you get a tune. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

First: I Wasnt trying to make fun of anyone. But usually the first thing newcomers want to upgrade is their BOV which imo is a newb move. And seems to be concurrent with others' opinions on this thread

Second: It should be a given that any upgrade on a scoob should be followed by resetting the ECU or with a tune -Even something as mundane as a BOV. MY 2001 RS/STI is running a custom catback/ Injen CAI and Stage 1 flash. I get 16psi and still use the stock BOV. The added pressure combined with the intake give off a louder BOV sound Not to mention 25 hp gain and 40 lb/ft torque. The guys at Garage Tuning would agree that a BOV just make the car run like crap. Cooler sound is usually why kids get the BOV to begin with and at least im trying to give some helpful advice. U just seem to have the search button as ur answer so If ur gna judge my comments u should at least have something better to offer. My info is based on the info I got from the guys at GT and many hours of searching these forums so my info is definately not false (or as u spelled it flase)

Third: If u ever jotted some notes ull know that sometimes u leave out definate articles like "The" in an effort to save time. I dont need english lessons especially form some1 named vietpunk. I speak Greek, French and some Portuguese and Spanish and English is my first language.

The search button quote was just a joke like stated in my last post. And my appologies as I thought you were just trying to flame a new guy, and yesterday was not a good day for me.

when you have open atmosphere Blow off valves(BPV's, Pop off valves, or whatever you want to call them, its all the same stuff) you are creating a big vacuum leak after the mass air flow sensor. thats why you have a crappy idle and stalling.
there is no difference between a BOV and a BPV. the only thing is if its recirculated or not.
oh, even if he could adjust it, it wouldn't make a difference for his idle quality concern.

try the HKS bov set for wrx, if you dont really care anything else on your car, and just want to sound of bov, the HKS can make you happy, for just spending about $300.

BOV= bad..

just put the stock one on.. sell the BOV, buy an EM of some sort. get a tune with a CAI if u want some whooshing sounds.. or u can satisfy urself with the awesome sound of the turbo if u get a down pipe

btw, EM= Engine management, as in like cobb accessport

just a learning experience. i ran without recirc on the stock bov, car ran like crap. put on hks ssqv bov, ran fine unlike stock without recirc, hate the sound but gave me nice backfires so i had it on for about two weeks then took it off after i got k&n short ram intake. i'm much more happy with the stock bov + intake than aftermarket bov w/o aftermarket intake.

my car is making 275 on mustang dyno w/ tbe, intake and generic cobb stage 2 map so i'm happy.

Check your vacuum line. In the process remove it before you do damage to your car.
