I your opinion which of the two is a better winter tire?

Thanks

I've never heard of either :(. The Arctic Alpines are good winter tires though.

I've had the Observes on my SVX for the last 2 winters and I can tell you that they are mighty fine.

I live in northern MN, so there is plenty of snow here to try them out on.

I've used them 2 winters, and the previous owner had them for 1 winter, and they still look like new treadwise. When it is nice out, they are pretty quiet, and handle reasonably well (worse than summer tires though) despite their softness.

I'd say that the SVX with Observes is at least as good or maybe even better than the previous F*rd F150 4x4 as long as the snow is not over the bumper :O

Can't say anything for the other brands, but I'd definately buy another set if I manage to wear this set out.

I have 16" Toyo Garit HT's on my RS, compared to RE92 they are amazing. Otherwise, I am very pleased with the dry, wet, snow and ice handling of these tires. On dry they are quiet as the RE92s and handle very well (for snow tires).

Our other family van has Firestone winterfires on them, very good on snow, ok on ice. Noisy, but actually handle better then the oem General XP junk that was on it.

Don't know which is better, but I like my Garit HT's.

Very quiet for a snow tire, pretty decent dry grip, and very stable slush or snow grip. I'm happy with them.

I just got the yokos and I can tell you they are quiet, about the same as the blizzaks that were on the car last year. But since we don't have any snow yet, I can't tell you how they handle.
