so i am looking to make say a cat back exhaust i am a cheap SOB and i have a friend who can weld for me. i am not 100% sure what i will need for it my list so far 2 flanges about 5ft of 2.25 pipe. i am trying to figure out if i should buy a new cat and go from the first cat back or just the second cat back but if u guys got any ideas let me know

why only 2.25" what car is this going to be on?

oh that is why you dont want 3". you could always get a STI or wrx exhaust and then have a mufler wellded on if you are realy just going for cheap and a beter sound.
