Hello,

I have an '07 FXT Limited 5MT, I bought it 06/02/07, 5K on it now. I'm in the San Francisco area, lots of nice Subarus around here. I love the car, it's still all stock except for Swifts, Cusco RSB, better alignment, Green panel filter and snorkus delete. Looking forward to upgrades in the future.

Anyways, hello to everyone. Here are some pics of it:

LOL, I really wanted WRX :)

I've been wanting a WRX for years. Test-drove a wagon 1 1/2 ago -- didn't buy it then. Found an '07 WRB WRX Limited in May of this year and wanted it bad, but it was a little too small and not practical enough for me, so settled for a Forester. I remember wanting a Forester when they first started showing up, only took me 10 years to own one :)

My girlfriend wasn't too happy at first because it's "not a pretty car", but I think she's warmed up to it, especially after I let her rip through the twisties in it with 2 mountain bikes on the roof rack and luggage in the back.

Welcome and very nice FXT. I wanted to get a Forester for my wife last year but we could only afford a Mazda 5. :(
Make sure you show the love to the Suby owners around the area. I'll keep an eye out for your FXT since you're near my area. :)

Are you going to Mt. Hammy ?

Sorry for responding so late. I missed the Mt. Hamilton meet.. I've seen pictures from previous ones and it looks like alot of fun. Hopefully I can make it to another event some time soon, it would be really cool to meet local Subaru owners.

We are taking the Forester to Yosemite tomorrow morning for the long weekend, should be a fun trip.

Enjoy Yosemite and the surroundings! One of our favorite places to visit yearly.

Hey Stan,

Your ride looks really nice! I have a 2000 RS and have been thinking about selling to get a ride with more "utility". I cycle and ski and I just need a little more room. I have been thinking of getting a Forester XT or Sports XT. One thing I have been dreading is the lack of handling capabilities, but I have seen online that the Swifts are very popular with a larger RSB. Were you considering the Sports at all or just going for the XT?

Nice ride though, now I really want to go out and get one!

...and yes, San Francisco has a lot of great Subaru people - we all wave to one another and my girlfriend thinks its so funny that they wave to her when she drives my ride (she gets none of that love in her Mazda3 - hehe) :)

2point5AWD, thank you for the compliment.

If you've been curious about a Forester XT you should check them out. I really like mine, 9,500 miles on it now. Adam at LIC has a nice Forester, maybe he can give you some opinions also.

The Sports is cool but doesn't come with leather heated seats and living in Bay Area I like having them. Forester has good amount of usable space, I test-drove a WRX wagon and it felt smaller.

Handling: stock, it's scary. The squeel of the Geolanders means "slow down or prepare to test your recovery skills", body roll-r-us. Swifts and Cusco RSB set at 22mm made a world of difference though, much safer to push and the ride is still comfy without any bounce. You can use WRX wagon or STi springs/struts, or MR coil-overs to improve handling. I'm now running 18x8 Tarmac 3s with 245/45/18 Michelin PSs and I am happy with handling. It would be nice to go on a drive with some WRX/STi peeps to see how well I can keep up.

Nobody waves to me though

If you want to check out my car in person maybe we can hook up somewhere. I'd be into going to a meet somewhere. Here are some newer pics:
