View Full Version : Official B&N thread
dj_noose 11-30-2002, 01:50 PM Well, we didn't get to 555 post on the other thread since they restarted the i-club forum. So here's another chance, lets get started:-P
Seriously though, this is a thead for posting about the friday night meets in Rockville.

We are still working on that thread on the other board.

pre-diddy 12-03-2002, 03:35 PM I hear a lot about the Rockville meets. I'd like to hit it up some time. Alot of my friends go so if i could get some info i will try to get down there some time.
dj_noose 12-04-2002, 08:10 AM Right now I'm out of town (down in Florida). I plan to return this weekend sometime, so I probably won't be able to go to a meet until the following friday. I don't know what everyones been doing for the past couple weeks cause I've been gone since Nov 17th. All I can tell ya is, we've got a great group of i-clubbers that meet up on friday's. I'm not sure what future meets are going to be like, since the weather is getting colder. We'll just have to play it by ear. That's what this thread is for... any ideas, just post here. We've even met up at Dave & Busters...
...... Yeah Dale, we're working on it:-P
dj_noose 12-04-2002, 08:16 AM I was wandering... can we get a head count???
I've only seen a handful of the regulars. Did most of you change your names???
keisuke roku 12-04-2002, 04:11 PM im in if we could get something started, i get my car this week, if all goes accordingly
whiterabbit 12-06-2002, 10:24 PM im here :)
seems most of the regular Mid-A group have been on the other board rather than this one.
we should talk about it on a Friday night sometime. I don't think I've been over there in a month. It's getting really too cold to sit out there. Maybe if my Prodrive muffler ever comes in I'll show up to show you guys.
Gonz.
dj_noose 12-20-2002, 04:58 PM Well, I figured out what you meant by the other board... a while back. This is the first day I've posted on this one since the last post.
xenonk 12-28-2002, 12:05 AM I am here and there, best way to see if I am there is to call my cell.. I'll try to check up on you guys now and then.. B&N is just around the corner from where I live anyways, so it's pretty much my backyard.
It's been slighty cold to be standing outside for more than 1 hour just to talk.. there are warmer places to chill out during the winter, any suggestions?

dj_noose 01-05-2003, 06:58 PM We've been eating out and going to Dave & Busters lately...
iceNine 01-05-2003, 08:14 PM Tom:
I don't know if I'll be there next Friday. I slid into a curb today in my own neighborhood and my car is currently undrivable with the drivers side wheel pushed back into the back of the wheel well. My STI v2 front air dam is history, it is currently in four pieces. The front bumper that was already damaged is now cracked completely through on that side so glad I didn't have the previous damage fixed.

xenonk 01-06-2003, 10:01 PM Did you try to drift the car while in the snow? It seems to be very tempting isnt it? Well, I pulled a 180 last month and my rear tire bounced off the curb (lucky me) but I was pulling the car out of a donut manuvuer and there was in-coming traffic, not a smart thing for me to be driving 40+mph on 3rd gear in the snow while I have plenty of things that I could have hit. One thing for sure is that left-foot braking is an awesome technique in loose pavement.
I hope your car is back to normal soon, I would hate to have my WRX out of commission for a while.

iceNine 01-07-2003, 05:00 PM What I did was totally stupid. I came too fast into a right angle corner that is also going down an incline. As soon as I had the wheel turned to take the corner the car slid perpendicular to the front wheel, across the street and into the opposite curb. If I was a better driver and had reacted more quickly I might have hit the gas hard and pulled out of it (maybe) but then if I was a smarter driver I wouldn't have gotten myself into that situation in the first place.

zombiedog 01-14-2003, 09:45 AM I'm going to start showing up... not new to modding but new to WRX. What took me so long??? Seems like a cool crowd though..."total lack of egos here".
Looking forward to meet people who will enable my wrx mod addiction and cause me to spend more money!!! wooHOOO!
zombiedog 01-19-2003, 08:30 AM Also whats the other board you are talking about??
willy1440 01-19-2003, 12:15 PM what is the B&N meet?
just a meeting?
sorry for being clueless
HA!
zombiedog 01-20-2003, 09:17 AM Read again... what is the other "BOARD" as in bbs or forum, people are speaking of in this topic?? That was the question. Written pretty clearly too btw.
ShahulX 01-20-2003, 12:09 PM B&N is Barnes and Nobles on 355 Rockville Pike...the shopping center with Tara Thai in it (near TGI FRIDAYS). I go with Club RSX sometimes

I am asking, WHAT OTHER BOARD!!!!! lol wtf!!!!
Is it me? or has reading comprehension flown out the window??
I ask what other board ppl are talking of? and my answers are...
1. just a meeting? sorry for being clueless
2. B&N is Barnes and Nobles on 355 Rockville Pike...the shopping center with Tara Thai in it (near TGI FRIDAYS). I go with Club RSX sometimes
---Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be an ass so no disrespect. Just looking for the right answer. Thanks.
iceNine 01-27-2003, 01:28 PM OK. Since the other Board might be a bit of a sensitive topic to discuss on this Board (lots of bad feelings among the "owners") I will take the plunge and answer your question. Try http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/ to access the NASIOC board forums. Obviously, the Mid Atlantic section may be of interest.
Dale
zombiedog 01-28-2003, 05:05 AM Yaaaaa! Thanks Man.
And don't worry. I'm sure the board owners know that they aren't going to keep users by witholding information from us but by continuing to run an excellent forum. :)
