View Full Version : stock bpv to bov problem! wrxisthebest 07-28-2007, 11:23 PM ok so y is it that with my bov i dont have an idle issue but if i take the stock bpv and take the part that runs to the intake off and have it venting to the air i have a idle problem??? 03_Impreza_Al 07-29-2007, 02:27 AM because thats supposed to be plugged... wrxisthebest 07-29-2007, 02:39 AM i had it plugged with an aftermarket plug! i just had the nozzle from the bpv off, it sounded sweet until about 5 min later when my car warmed up i had idle issues! but this doesnt happen with my rfl which vents into the atmosphere! Paul@dbtuned 07-29-2007, 11:32 AM Ttiwwop. Take pics. Did you change the gasket? 03_Impreza_Al 07-30-2007, 01:38 PM Ttiwwop. Take pics. Did you change the gasket? I always wondered about this I never saw a gasket on my tmic =( wrxisthebest 07-30-2007, 02:28 PM  thats not good! there is a gasket and no i did not go and buy a new one cuase i was just testing it out to see how it worked but i got a different bov so im all good! stock bpv put back together and on the car! bov for showin off! 03_Impreza_Al 07-31-2007, 01:44 AM damn I guess I should go get one. My car has been running fine though =|? wrxisthebest 08-01-2007, 01:22 AM ya i would suggestone! vroompssh 08-01-2007, 09:35 PM it is because you stock one is always leaking back in to the intake.. me and rob have both tried it notta gonna work unless you do some modifying to the bov.. if you look at the bottom of it there is a hole that hole ned to be plugged and drilled elswhere.. pretty sure.. b/c it is designed to have some back pressure to keep it closed kimchijeegeah 08-03-2007, 12:29 PM yah stock bpv leaks at idle, and when warmed up makes your idle extremely rough, putters and dies. it leaks air too when your applying boost. so plugging the recirc hose and just taking off the flange won't work. best to just keep it stock. or get a bov. wrxisthebest 08-05-2007, 08:56 PM thanks yall!
