FYI SPT released a new heatshield.

I personally don't know of any difference in the engine compartment. There are subtle differences but none in that part of the motor. COBB has a heat shield too.
I reused mine. I had the muffler shop installing my downpipe trim it. It was pretty easy, and I think they did a pretty good job. The only thing though, is that I am running a bellmout downpipe, and after the trimming, can only secure the heatshield by 1 bolt. Sometimes it rattles, but I can bend it upwards to mitigate it.

I'd just shop around for a used one, or if you're having trouble finding one, just get a used aftermarket one. I suppose if you're really having trouble finding one, you could just get a turbo blanket and wrap your turbo in that, but even so, I think the heat shield offers SOME protection to the intercooler. Even with a front mount, the heat would radiate through the piping still heating up the air.

I just removed the lower portion of the heatshield and it fit right over my downpipe. It's also held on by 3-bolts. I dunno why yours in only 1, maybe they forget to put the other bolts in. The top half of the heat sheild is already drilled for 3 bolt holes, and the bracket it mounts to are taped for them as well. It would only not work if the shop didnt put the stock bracket back on...which they should, their is nothing that keeps it from slipping back on.
