Question cobb tuning springs

with 17x8 rims and 225/45/17 tires on a wrx sedan with cobb tuning springs. would there be any tire rubbing? during turning?

I have seen numerous guys running 17X8 wheels with
the Cobb Tuning lowering springs but,you have to run
a more narrow design tire though like Goodyear F1 GS D3's or Nitto 555's.

Depends on the offset of the wheel. Running 225's on a 8" wheel is kind of a waste of wheel width and Cobb springs lower the front too much.

Did you already purchase these parts?

A 225 is a good fit for a 7.5" wheel and it will also fit fine on an 8" wheel but the added width will increase weight and be more prone to curbing. If you don't plan on running anything more than a 225 you'd be better off with a 7.5" rim. It's not like its a horrible idea, It's just not ideal.

I'm running a 225 on a 7.5 right now but I plan on running a 245 on a 8" rim next.

Have you looked at Swift, RCE or pinks? What are your goals for the car and do you plan on tracking the car or doing some autoX?

If you plan on tracking the car (road course) in the future the 8" rim might be a good idea since you will have the option to go with a wider tire. What offset do you plan on running with those 8 inchers?

AFAIK Prodrives are a nice spring and should suit your needs but I have no first hand experience with them. I've heard great things about Swift, RCE and pinks also but have no experience with them either. I've ran SPT's, GC's and nothing else. Both SPT (too soft for me) and GC (not enough travel in front) have issues that I'm not too fond of but for the most part they're good. I'll keep the GC's until I find a barrel of money for some Ohlins.

If you go with an 8" width try to stay around +43 - +47. If you go with a 7.5" rim +47 - +50.

Im running a 17in rota torque with the cobb springs. My tire size is 245/45/17 and I dont have any problems. Im also running the KYB AGX struts with them as well witch has been really nice together.
