True, but not everyone is an amateur sniper. A .410 double-barrel shotgun works almost as well, just be prepard to pick birdshot out of the carcass for a while.

Did you know that there are acutally classes on how to hunt turkeys? Most people I know use bow and arrows since its harder for the turkeys to hear you load the arrow (crossbows are pretty bad if your going for a pinpoint shot, you have to be really close). I had a friend that had a "turkey hunting" bow, it was all felt lined with soft grips so that it was more silent.

I won't be hunting for turkey this thanksgiving. My brother-in-laws ex mother-in-law gave my wife a flyer from PETA about why we shouldn't by a butterball turkey. I'm going to buy five and only eat one. I'll send a photo of the wasted buterballs to her. :)

It's all good. We do the same thing with the Jack Rabbits around the farm. I guess we tok out a couple alpha males or something, haven't had to do it in the past 10 years.

i hope not, i read some articles on that and supposedly one explorer team that found one of those frozen mammoths let their sled dogs feast on the carcass. within like a week, most of the dogs were dead, or so horribly sick that they might as well have been dead.
