I recently started hearing a squeaking sound coming from the front driver side of the car. It sounds like some washers is loose. Could my motor mount be broken? I have a 06 sti with stock motor mounts.

 

It will sound more like a loud rattling under certain rpms...

 

pull up your ebrake and rev your car slowly while in gear, if the engine lifts an abnormal amount you have have a bad mount. or you can just visually check all of the mounts by looking at the rubber in them for cracks or splits.
