That looks like fake carbon fiber or "carbon fiber look". The checkerboard is just a bit too perfect? Right or wrong ~ actually not that different from Rota's version of 'CF Caps'.

 

yes they are not the REAL CF. however, they are not any heavier than the real CF. these look much nicer than the Rota badges.
