Since the thread was closed, I figured I'd ask here (and perhaps others were wondering the same thing). You all might know me as the gal that puts on T.E.A.M. Racing track events. That being said, I am an avid Subie enthusiast, but I do not actually own one. :( Would I still be welcome to hang out and drool over the sea of Subies? I live right around the corner and would love to come out. Oh -- and not all of us here are guys, btw. There are actually chicks who know how and love to drive, lol. ;)

Well, you're always welcome, the suby meets have never been subies only. Seems as of late that the meets have grown quite small though :( There's usually a few people around there at the meets every Saturday, including myself, though I won't be there this Sat. (Aug. 19th), or the next (Sonoma Grand Prix!!!). The crowd just depends on peoples schedules.

We use the super-duper-sized thread called "Sacramento Weekly Meet Discussion" for these questions Bonnie. ;) And to answer it, sure, all racing enthusiasts are made welcome! Heck, anybody is welcome whatsoever, as long as they will behave properly and don't get us removed from the site or create a reputation we don't want. Liking cars and driving is a bonus. :D Also, if you can make it to Reno a bit early for the track weekend, our Thursday night meets there are often a little bigger than the Natomas meets now.

Cool! I'll see you guys there sometime then. My street car is a red Miata -- hard to miss amongst Subies I reckon. I'd go early to the RFR event, but I'll be in my racecar, which is not something I tend to use for commuting exept to the track. If it was on a Friday, I'd be game. Sometimes I instruct for the racing school out at RFR . . . I'll keep your guys' meet in mind if I'm coming through town. :)

just to chime in, a few weeks ago there was a DC2 ITR, and a CD7 Accord at the natomas meet, and no one had any problems with that. also, Mr. Ban SUVs has shown up to at least one meet with a green Miata, so don't feel too bad about it. some of us (myself included) actually like Miatas, so i'll keep an eye out for yours.

Hmmm . . . maybe I should show up in my racecar instead. It's a Miata, too -- but it's a race-prepared one. I need to run it through the car wash anyway. :)
LOL on the Chevy 4x4. :D

My Miata was blue, it made 4 or 5 meets, and I've been to 2 meets in my silver Ford Ranger 4x4. ;)

Hmmm . . . there seems to be a trend here . . . seems like quite a few of the Subaru folks used to own Miatas. I wonder if that means there's a shiny new STI in my future? ;)

Haha, you might not wish for that when you see what I replaced my Miata with! 168,000 miles with accident damage FTW!

it's by the Border's on Del Paso blvd in Natomas. if you're coming from I-5, just head down Del Paso until you see a Shell station off to the left in a big parking lot. just drive through that parking lot until you see the Borders, and you'll find us hanging out.
OH! In front of the Borders . . . I thought it was in front of Pick Up Stix. I'll be there with my racecar. It's a white Spec Miata with a Mariner Blue (changes from green to blue depending on the light available) hard top, #36. We can have a contest to see who can fit in it, lol.

the meet starts at 6, but people are always fashionably late. we usually get grub around 6:45ish or so, just depends on how long we feel like waiting around for people.

Hey folks, it was nice to meet a few of you this evening. I was happy to learn a few more things about Subarus, set-ups, mods, etc.. A few times my head was spinning when you started about the maps and turbos, but I was mostly able to keep up. Being as I've never owned a turbo, I have to live vicariously. ;) Sorry that I can't make the next couple of meets, but I enjoyed it and will be back soon. I don't have much of a life anyway, and it was a treat to talk cars with you all. See you soon, and thanks for the warm welcome. :)
