hey, i own a 01 2.5RS and for my next mod i plan on getting the Borla Stainless steel headers, however, they are on the expensive side, around $500. Are they worth it ? are there any noticable hp gains what about a sound difference.
What about other header systems if there are any and their prices?

Hey! For gold rims... Anything goes!!! Hmmm Yeeman has a set of 18's....

Anyway back on topic, the cheapest I've found on headers is about 340 shipped to hawaii, of course I haven't searched too hard, maybe someone can beat that price...

I've got borla headers on my car, I think mine are genIII.

Well, currently I think they are genIII revision1... i cracked the original genIII headers I had and these ones have a few minor changes to them.

I can't really say if there are any documentable gains from the headers, I have no before or after data to compare.

I am pleased with them tho, the sound is pretty amazing.

Nopi has the Borla Headers for the 2.5L for $313 and the 2.2L for $273. These should be the new Gen IV headers.

Cobb Tuning is working on a new equal length header for the 2.5L, but they don't even know what materials they are going to use so there is no est. price.

I just ordered the Borla Headers for my 2.2L Impreza. After I get them on there I'll let you know about sound and power gains.

I might be selling my borla gen 4 header with heat coating and thermo tec header wrap. The header has been on my car for only one week, and the previous owner had it for two weeks.

I need to get my money back out of it for some unforseen financial troubles.

someone from cobb tuning posted on www.rs25.com that they're almost finished with their new headers. Check with them, they should be good.

Borlas sound really nice, very rumbly and pleasing to the ear (kinda like a classic V8), but don't make much (if any) power gains.

I put the Borla Headers and Cobb Tuning high flow cat on my impreza this afternoon. The only way I can describe this sound is it sounds like a Harley...even with an Apex'i N1 catback. Incredible difference in exhaust tone and volume. No CEL's yet.

My brother doesn't like it.....says it doesn't sound like an import (he loves rice) but he's only ever owned a honda civic or now his mazda mx-6. Everyone else was amazed to hear this coming out of an Impreza Wagon.

Decent power gains and it definitely picked up alot on the low end.

On a side note I had to order the header from SPO Motorsports because as usual Nopi is out of stock. Steve at SPO got this to me in less than a week with UPS Ground which is pretty good with all the extra shipping volume from Christmas.

As the computer learns the new flow, you'll feel a lot more pull in fourth and fifth gear. Fourth is a lot more fun after installing headers.

Also, the exhaust note will change with the computer learning too. It starts off real harley like, but it drops into a more deep grumble with time.
