Hey paul,

I ran into a little problem with some control arm bushings, and was wondering if you have a press for doing replacement bushings on suspension components. Im trying to replace my worn out stock front control arm bushings with some superpro bushings, but the hand-press I just tried is garbage (plus the bushing is so old it wont even come out) and the passanger side bolt wont come off so I cant even remove that control arm! (I even had two people on it, one on each end, even used a sledge... its not budging)

Anyway, let me know if you can help... I jacked up the driver side bushing trying to use the press on it, so I'm hoping its even drivable...

Let me know!

Oh, and I can get you the hookup on stock parts now if you need anything ;) (PM me)

Steve

If you don't find the press, you can get those out in vice. Same as press. Or, you can just hammer them out using same diameter socket...

I already tried the harbor freight bushign removal tool (which is a giant C-clamp contraption) which didnt work... Its possible the metal part of the bushing has rusted to the control arm.

Cut the rubber portion out.
Burning is more funner, but, well.........:)

Anyway, what you're working towrds is using a hacksaw blade, cut the metal portion of the bushing axially.
That is, the same direction that the bolt goes.
Once cut, the outer portion of the bushing will almost fall out.

I'm not sure what you mean... The bushing is still in there and I cant get any portion of it out!

BTW, im going to pick up those control arms bobbyD is selling so I can swap in the superpro bushings on those and use those control arms instead of my rusty old ones. But Ill still have to find a way to get them out without runing the control arm...
