Cool Insurance costs for 2002 WRX??

Hey guys. Parents are kind of concerned about insurance costs now that gas is flipin' sky high. So what would it cost about for a 16-18 year old person to drive a 2002 subaru wrx? Any ideas?...I'm trying to get my grades up to get the insurance grade-break thingy....but I really need a price quote. Thanks !

well since ur that young i think insurance would be kind of high..the best thing would be to go under ur parents for now until u can afford to pay for it urself..i'm not to sure about the price you'll have to call ur insurance company to see how much it would be...here's mine..

23yrs old with an 2002 wrx..been with insurance company for 5 yrs..i pay $1200 a yr which breaks down to about 100 bucks a month full coverage..part of the driver safety program which rates will drop a few percent sometime this year..and that's with 2 speeding tickets from a few years back..guess they never noticed..hehe..good luck

I was wondering the same exact thing. Parents are a little unsure about me getting a nice car because of insurance.

I'd go with "a lot" when I was 16 I had a 1995 Ford Escort wagon and my insurance was just over $100/mo.

it depends on alot of things: age, sex, marital status, driving record, miles to work, area where the car will be parked, etc etc etc etc.

But as far as a wrx for a 16 year old, I would expect somewhere around the range of 350-400 a month if you have a clean record..that's just my estimate. i suggest you just call a few companies and see what they quote you. if you can, i'd try to be included on your parents plan, especially if they've been with the same company for a long time and have multiple plans.

I was paying 195 a month for my 95 civic lx when i was 16, and when i bought my rex it went up to 295 with full coverage. that's with pretty much every discount under the sun hehe. this is with farmers btw.

i'm 20, clean record, 04wrx, live in california.

anyways, good luck man. if you do get a wrx, drive safe and have fun, it's a great car.

How about you get a wagon, I got one a couple years ago and it is crap loads cheaper for insurance compared to my V6 camaro, I could imagine the wagon being less expensive then the sedan since they think you will be getting groceries with that thing.

im 18. I got my car when i was 17. My insurance is 500$ a month
1 accident (RX7)
1 sideshow ticket (lancer) 23109
Driving without a license, insurence and unregistered vehicle (Rx7)
3 speeding tickets (Nevada, Wyoming, and Colorado)
as long as you have a clean record insurance should be cheaper for you.

im 18 with an 02 wrx and paying 330 a month with only one accident on my record. Your rates won't be what mine are if your record is clean.

Lord, I forgot what it was like! I got married at 23, which is like turning 25 to the insurance companies.

I just bought my WRX, so I'm waiting for the word back on how much State Farm is gonna charge me. But I'm now 28, and with no tickets/accidents/claims on my record and 5 years with State Farm, my Outback Sport was costing me around $700/year. Actually a little less than that.

Before I got married, though? I was paying $1200 a year for insurance on a 1987 Volvo station wagon! And back then I STILL had no tickets/accidents/claims!

So my suggestion is to go to Vegas and elope with some girl. Sure, it'll make the rest of life kind of tricky, but at least the insurance companies will leave you alone!

I drive a 1989 Jeep Wrangler and pay $220 a month for insurance. I have liability only, and a clean record. I've shopped around and everyone ends up saying the same thing....the high rates are because of my age. So if I'm paying $220 for liability on a jeep, there is no way I can swing full coverage for a WRX. Insurance companies are the reason I'm stuck driving a beat to hell jeep everyday...

$1200 a year? HA! I wish I was so lucky.
