225/50 on stockers

Any one running 225/50/16 on stock 16x6.5 wheels?

If so, can you snap some pictures. What I want to see is how it looks. I've read that it "bulges" lack of a better word, over the wheels.

I need new tires soon and debating between:

205/55
205/50
225/50

speedo difference is not important as say sidewall stiffness, noise, comfort.

I bought my 225/50-16 S0-3's from a guy who had them on stockers. He liked them and said they were fine, but I think they would 'flare' a little as in the sidewall would angle outward towards the tread.

Like Johnny said there's a lot of us who use the wider size on the stockers. There's a little bulge but it doesn't look bad. I'll try to dig up an old pic.

i'd try to locate a set of 98-01 RS wheels that are 16 x 7 if you want optimal oem fit. they go for pretty cheap when they are up on the classifieds.

I know they fit, but I just don't want the tires to look too bulged over. 225/50/16 is my preferrence.

I've search here and nazioc and couldn't find any pix.

+1 for those. I run the 6 spokes on my WRX and I like them a lot more than the WRX stockers.

I have 16" Legacy GT wheels (mesh) they are 16x6.5. I would love some 99 RS wheels but they are so hard to come by. I know someone was selling some but they were painted.

anyway, did any of you guys run 225 on a lowered wagon? rubbing issues?
