Hey i just installed the Kartboy shifter and bushing kit. I had a lot of trouble with the rear bushing. I found that the passanger side bolt was a pain to but in. Not only because of the tight space, but it seemed to require a lot more muscle to tighten. I got it in as far as i could but i don't think it's in all the way still. I ran out of time and had to give up. Did i possibly cross thread the thing or do I just need to find better tools, suck it up and stop being a wimp? The bolt isn't going anywhere (for now) but i know it's not pushing the bushing all the way back. Could I have put the bushing on upside down? I don't know, Help me Kartboy!

Did you follow the instructions (http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5047) for the rear shifter bushing like the one Peaty posted at Scoobymods? We can't tell if you cross-threaded the thing unless you can't remove it. Take out the fasteners and examine the threads for damage or metal filings.

I took it out last night and all of the treads were fine. The bolt stopped at the same place when I put it back in. I don't know what the problem is. I just can't get it to go in any further. I might take the bushing off completly and try to do that side first, maybe that will make things a little easier. It's just a hassle since I don't have the space or eguipment to do it at home. I have to drive across town to use my friends garage and jack stands.

5MT or 6MT?

Sorry I should have posted the status. I took everything apart and put it back together. I bought some better tool and I was able to get everything together ok. It turned out that the ratchet I was using just wasn't cutting it. I bought one with a longer handle and was able to get a lot better leverage. Cheap tools seemed to be the main problem. Thanks for the help.
