se0ul 03-09-2006, 05:56 PM hello peoples ill be moving to ft carson, colorado around the end of this april~
just wanted to stop by and say hello to all the rocky mountain suby owners
was also wondering if there were some pretty good backroads or mountain roads to drive around the area?
see all you subies around' ;p
Justin
VRWRX 03-09-2006, 06:03 PM Welcome. I don't know first hand of any good roads around Ft. Carson, but I'm sure they're there. Most of the CO Subies are over at www.awdpirates.net. I bet if you asked over there you'd get an answer. But stick around here and strengthen our RMIC presence!
Magish 03-09-2006, 06:41 PM werd.
Stick around here to "slowly" build the tiny group who still mingles around here. However, for a answer go to awdpirates.net as that is where the entirety of the local community is based.
Cheers
-Jeff
se0ul 03-20-2006, 04:51 PM cool thanks guys~
hey i had a question: anyone in the military or know of someone in the military that is stationed in fort carson, co? if so, do you know how strict they are about moddified emmisions or any vehicle modifications in general? :x
Greatly appreciated!
Justin
Magish 03-20-2006, 06:29 PM As a general rule of thumb, they are pretty darn lax here in CO. Colorado springs has supposedly tightened down a bit on excessively noisy exhausts, but you are pretty much never going to get a California style "you've been bad, now go see the state ref" ticket. I know Greg (EtchyLives) was running catless or single-cat (which most modded WRX's are) whilst living at fort carson before he sold the blue wagon and got shipped off to sand-land. So in other words, don't worry about it :)
You should also come to the "big" meet (we'll see :p) this May once you get here. It is being planned by our very own Korean car crasher and post whore extrordinare, Jon (The Korean), and should be a lot of fun at a beautiful location. It is a surefire way to get to know the locals.THe tiny i-club group will likely be htere, me in the gold box, I think Kevin (KDAmericano) will be there, and maybe Jake too (VRWRX). It should be great fun as the last one had a nice 60 car turnout.

Edit: All typo;s are because of my st00pid keyboard that decided to turn itself on to espaņol mode and I can't turn it off.
se0ul 03-21-2006, 10:28 AM nicee~ ill definately try to be there
did greg do a pre vehicle inspection when he first had his vehicle at fort carson? the reason why i was tripping a little bit over this situation was cause ive read online somewhere (dont remember where) that since fort carson was on more up there in the mountainous terrain that smog and all the good stuff was a bit strict and will be tested for the newcomers
i hope i dont have to go back to stock once again/.. hah
ive been state ref'ed before and yea it really sucks as$ hah
Justin (the another korean guy)
Magish 03-21-2006, 10:37 AM I don't believe he did have to have it smoged or anything. Unless the base is diffrent, they are fairly lax out here (besides Denver, which still is not bad) about emissions. I'll email him and ask if he had to do anything special.

se0ul 03-21-2006, 04:29 PM cool thanks a lot~
yea i just talked to another friend that is there right now. he said that all he had checked on his truck was the basic blinkers, horn, stuff like that etc
Justin
Zoeb2s 03-22-2006, 02:52 PM isnt that where aaron guize is stationed as well?
se0ul 03-22-2006, 04:09 PM is he? dunno
Checkpoint 03-23-2006, 10:04 AM What up! Not all of us "Poachers" are on I-club or AWD Pirates for that matter. What kind of roads are you looking for? Dirt or Tarmac? I could name a few. Phantom Canyon is one of my favorites. But be careful, if you off here, you're looking at 700-1000 ft drops in some places. But thats the way it works out here. Also, a few of us got sick of competiing with on comming traffic and local long arms of the law. So we built this course out here called CORE (Colorado Off Road Extreme). We often spend the weekends here. You can go as fast as you want and don't have to worry about nothing. $20 all day.
Here is a video for you to enjoy

se0ul 03-23-2006, 10:16 AM nice!~ i was actually looking forward to more tarmac type backroads haha dont really think my setup is set up for the core course haha. looks really fun though~ good stuff! $20 all day really beats auto-x and track aha.
Checkpoint 03-23-2006, 01:33 PM There is a RallyX track there as well. No road course. You won't find one in Colorado. or rather near Denver. They all closed last year. Mtn Evans is a cool road. Don't kill yourself. You'll see when you get up there.
se0ul 03-23-2006, 03:17 PM cool thanks for the info! ill remember to be careful while driving around those mountain sides~ just looking for a fun drive~ not an all out time attack competition ;]
Zoeb2s 03-28-2006, 04:11 PM hey edo....aaron is @ ft carson.
pm me if u want his #
se0ul 04-03-2006, 08:30 PM hey you guys i was wondering what is premium gasoline at 76 gas stations over there around colorado springs? 91? 93 oct?
thanks in advance!
Justin
Checkpoint 04-04-2006, 09:35 AM Only 91. Dont run anything less than 91 in your suby. Plus they cut the **** out of it up here with meth. So anything less runs like shiot. There are a few locations in Denver that sell everything you want. 92-oct to 115 oct. You might want to consider buying 5 gallons of 105 and mixing it ever so often with your 91. I'm sure you've figured out how well your car runs at altitude.
Duggens Fuel. 105 oct is about $4.75 a gal.
