What's up LIC,
I think I was talking to Kevin about the rims and tire size, and I saw you guys had SWIFT SPRINGS box at your shop. Since you guys have experience with both SWIFT springs and wheels with 8.5 width I was wondering what size is good for 05 STi? It drops about 30mm all around with SWIFT springs. So do you guys think a 245/40-18 good size? I don't want to rub what so ever! And Kevin said it was bad that I stagger my wheel sizes so what's a good ONE SIZE FIT ALL tire size?

thank you

-Mike

Hey mike, i am not a suby guru, a prevous suby owner...but what i can tell you is 245/40/18's are very very tall. you will still have a reasonable way to go before your slammed with that small of a drop, so it may be possible but fender rolling might be neccessary. I personally use 235/40/18's on my M3 all the way around, and that is a good tires size, many brands to choose from, no worrys about rubbing (Suby or M3) and not all that expensive.

My 2 worthless cents

cool thanks, i will go for 235/40s. since it's an 05 the fenders are already rolled from factory.

On 18x8.5" wheels, I'd go with 245/35/18. With the stock struts, you shouldn't rub (but that will depend on offset as well). I have 18x8.5" Advan RS' with 235/40/18 Advan Neova's on my Legacy, and I wish I had some more tire (although Advan doesn't make an appropriately sized 245 series tire for my application).

I have gram light 57f's 18x8.5 with +45 offset. I'm running toyo 235/40/18's on my 05 STi with no problems at all. (dropped on flex's).

The next set of tires will probably be 245/35/18's. Shouldnt be any problems.
