I was thinking of maybe driving my car from sacramento to novato and swapping for a 6 speed tranny. I know that the 6 speed would be stronger than my stock 02 wrx transmission, but what are the overall benefits of doing such a swap? I just want to know before I get in over my head. I'm looking at the basic install package, possibly adding a better clutch package. Any thoughts?

i have a 6-MT with an ACT 13.8lb flywheel and street disc .... i absolutly love it
just make sure you get a tranny with a viscous center diff or get the DCCD controller for a DCC D unit or else you'll basically have a rear wheel drive car.

the tranny fits the engine's power band much better than the 5 speed

I guess it really comes down to personal preferrence and ultimatley what amount of power you are going for.
