There are lots more upgrade you can do with the STI. However, to make serious HP you most likely be looking to a new turbo upgrade. Depending on your price range and the HP level you want to reach there are different turbos out there for your need. I believe and I could be wrong that for some of the bigger turbo, you will most likely have to get different uppipes and downpipes as the a/m ones that works for the stock might not work for bigger turbos.
With the accessport you can get protuned and get maps tailored for your car with ur mods. Some of the turbos that are good with your set up right now might be VF serious turbo. Those are the ones they use in Japan STI. I have heard thou that these turbos might not be good benefitical for the 2.5L STI. Again I could be wrong. But all you need is the turbo, injectors and fuel pump to finish it off.

I've run both a Gruppe-S prototype TD05-20G and TD06-20G on my STi and like both of them very much. However, for the cost of ~$1600-$2000 (not to mention a FMIC, Big MAF, etc.), your increase in power won't be nearly as good a value as the your TBE and tune.
To compare the TD05-20G and TD06-20G to the Stock VF39 (Gruppe-S 4WD Mustag Dyno, 91 Octane):
-Completely stock: 220WHP / 220WTQ
-Stock VF39 w/ headers, 3" TBE, Protune / Ecutek: ~260WHP / 300 WTQ
-TD05-20G w/ 850cc injector, Walbro FP, headers, 3" TBE, Protune / Ecutek: ~285WHP / 305 WTQ, peak torque at 3200 - 3400 RPM, spools faster than VF39.
-TD06-20G w/ 850cc injector, Walbro FP, headers, 3" TBE, Protune / Ecutek: ~315WHP / 325WTQ, peak torque at 3600 - 4000 RPM, spools 200-400 RPM slower than VF39.
I'll have to post all the dynographs sometime but what isn't apparent in the numbers is that we absolutely love the TD05. It spools faster than stock and offers insane insta-torque. It is probably the best turbo we have ever tuned for a "street" setup. This would also be ideal for auto-x. However, this turbo runs out of breath fast after 5000 RPM. In contrast the TD06 is comparatively laggy but pulls hard to redline.
Thanks,
Geoff

That sounds like a really good set up. I like the fact that you included the fuel rails. That is one thing a lot of people leave out, they must not know that with really big aftermarket turbos, cylinder #3 gets starved. Not good. Do you have anywhere where you can get your accessport protuned? They don't have any preset maps for this kind of set up.
Crawford performance offers a great kit (cp-30r includes gt30r turbo jet-hot coated , tial 44m external wastegate , ic piping jet-hot coated for aps725 fmic , all hoses and gaskets . ) MZM performance has 720cc injectors , 255 walboro , and aps fuel rails . Crawford also , works closely with I-speed usa which offer the Ecu-tek reflash . I have these items on my sti and it runs great . the only problem would be that the kit runs for $4400 and aps parts are really pricey . The fuel rails run for $695 the 725 fmic for $1500 . This might be a-littlte overkill but the quality is outstanding .
I had nerve damage on the left side of my arm . Just had surgery , can't drive my sti well . I want to run it before the end of the year at the drags and see how it does . I had a little trouble running it last year , alot of turbo lag and the Ecu-tek reflash wasn't working well throwing lean and o2 codes . It's fine now but , my arm's going to take about 5 months to heal . Originally I was going to go with the gt35r but , decided to go with a smaller turbo . The Ecu-tek map was more reliable . Also , I hardly ever drive it because it's really loud and attracts alot of police attention . I tried running it with the stock dp but you could feel the car hesitating .

another thing is how much psi will i be able to run on that turbo with the upgrades i have priced without blowing the motor?
do i also need a boost controller?? or a new bov?

19 psi would be conservative . Depending on octane 21-23 psi but , don't expect your 2.5L to last . Instead of a boost controller I would grab a boost gauge and egt gauge minimum . Also , a knock link and wideband o2 sensor if you're running the higher boost 23 psi , just a littlte peace of mind to check for detonation . Remember that these garret turbos usually run better at around 25 psi . Anyway good luck !
