We were mounting my Chargespeed frount lip on the 05 STi, and the fitment was so tight that the two back ends of the lip cracked at the top (just above the drilled hole) as it snapped behind the bumper. They are in about the size of a small finger nail. Not very noticable but it bothers me knowing its there.

Can I fill these two cracks with some sort of small putty and just touch it up? Anyway to fix this? Input is appreciated, thanks.

It can be refiberglassed....but is a larger hassle than I think you want.

Possibly an epoxy resin to fix it. If it's a crack that you think will possibly get bigger, drill a small hole just past the end of the crack (leave a small space between the end of the crack and the hole) (Example: ---- o )

This will give the crack no where to run if it spreads.

As a general rule always test fit and have a dremel with you (to bore out any holes that may need it). Aftermarket body parts aren't always a perfect fit. Learnt this the hard way myself, but in an unnoticeable location and just left it alone.

I work on helicopters that are made almost entirely of carbon fiber and kevlar, and I can tell you this stuff will bond it and then some. It's not as brittle as JB Weld, so it still allows for flexibility. You can't inspect a cowling or panel on our helo without finding this on it somewhere.
