I saw two SRT's running last night. One looked stock and the other was on smaller diameter drag slicks and sounded louder than the other one. I had a chance to run against the faster one.

WRX run:
60' = 1.837
ET = 13.298
MPH = 100.21

SRT run:
60' = 1.896
ET = 13.851
MPH = 98.54

I was shocked to see him next to me half way down and also impressed with the pass he made but don't think the car would run close to that on street tires. The slicks allowed him to cut an excellent 60' time. He had to run in Comp Rod the rest of the evening.

The stock looking one ran a 14.6 ET but broke down after two runs and was sitting on the side of the return road all night. So if you compare stock-to-stock cars, it will run neck and neck with a WRX. I know it's a neon but look out guys becuase this little car looks like a contender now.

Does this mean, all it takes is 2 drag races to break an SRT? :D :D Too bad for the guy. That's a fast Neon though... did you find out if he had any other mods?

The neons are going to be an interesting car to play w/. Too bad they are sooo ugly!!

I think he was running a MBC and slicks. That's it.

That wasn't my fastest time but my Sig "VS2" = Vishnu Stage 2 with a ProTorque Torque Converter.

It took a while to get used to the bugeyes... but damn, you drop it a little and add nice wheels and WRX are just argressive looking, curvy enough but way more boxy. WRX definitely adds touches from the R34.

Yeah I love the bugeyes, but I have to admit when I first saw them I couldn't stand it. I need to get me some EDM HIDs and the STi grill and I'll be set. 04 be damned :D

but I like reliable horsepower. If I don't think a car can handle the added stress I would rather not mod it at all. I hear everyone saying how the SRT-4 is such a good deal for under $20K. I say that is still too much for a domestic that will break down after 2 races. I would like to be a well rounded guy who likes all cars, but I really hate Neons and Civics for some reason. Just my biased opinion.

we should appreciate the aesthetic beauty of every race car. even those old school domestics. i think the SRT4 doesnt look "ugly", when i c that car i just think "sweet ride" just as when i see a WRX.

SRT's will be something to watch out for. There are Neons though...yuck!

Awesome. I finally get to see a rex beat an srt4. after reading srtdriven's trash in the troll forum, i am proud to be a hater of the srt4. It's ugly, and über rice. Huge wing, FWD, fake hoodscoop, that's total rice! I don't see why people call the wrx bug eyes ugly. i agree, when i first saw the bug eyes, i was like: "Whoa, what the hell?" But it has grown so much on me. The new 04s definitely look more aggressive, and are better looking. But IMO, without the bugeyes, it loses a bit of it's character and soul.

i definately prefer the bugeyes to those new ones.....i think i'd rather get the JDM projectors though

Like you said, the WRX has grown on you. Well, so does the SRT4 for some people. I owned a Neon R/t and I would have to say it was the worst vehicle I ever owned. The tranny kept shattering (3 times). I swore I would never by a Dodge ever again. After alot of research, it's not hard to say that the SRT4 is only a Neon on the outside and has plenty of upgrades out there for a cheap price to take out STI's and Evo's. But I am more open minded as a vehicle owner in knowing that your buying a vehicle that will only be worth 12K after you drive it off the lot. I hate the body style but I hate the steering and handling worse. I can also say that I hate the old body style of the WRX. The new one that came out is by far way better looking and more agressive. One down fall that I hate equally of both was the interior. The only thing cool about the SRT4 is the seats. And the WRX is the power windows in the back compared to the SRT4. After driveing them both, hands down I would buy the WRX. More power, AWD, better handling, and better resale value. If your going to make an investment in a vehicle that you may keep, make sure your going to have something of worth, not a nice piece of $hit car. Quality fast car vs. Cheaply built crap. take your pick.

Yes I am a Saturn owner, not for the body but for the performance of Opel engines. I also hate anoying Honda's even though I work for them.

dont want to be a hater anymore than I am, but according to the dodge website, they start at 21,295 and only have 230hp.

I have a "bugeye" and I know the car is cosmetically challenged at birth, but everyone has there own opinion on whats fashionable and what isn't.

Can you get employee pricing on that car? It doesn't seem like it from the website. If you could, that would make it pretty cheap.

lol i want to go aginst a srt4, i got the vishnu sub zero, but thats crazy u run only a 13.2 with a vishnu stage 2? their webiste claims a 12.8 or 12.6 cant remember. What happened?
