I have EBC Red Stuff on my 05 Sti w/stock brembos. They stop hard but were squeeky for about 500 milies... I pulled my hair out trying to get them to stop squeeking but they eventually bedded with the already worn rotors and stoped on their own. Brake dust is low for a high performance pad and rotor life seams good. I would buy them again.

I have tried all of the PMUs. I liked them all. Their description is dead on. Street. Sport, Street/sport, track. They are very dusty and the sportier they get, the more they squeel. But they are great.

I am going to test some JDM Winmax's soon.

I have tried the Hawk HPS, they are nice for street, a lot of dust, easy on rotors

Also for my brembos I have the DS Ferodo 2500, which have a low speed squeal, medium harshness on the rotor and are good for the occasional track day and high performance driving.

I'm running the Axxis pads with Rotora rotors in the rally car. I like them. They are noisy at stops. I grind my pads down in order to fit the calipers better. I've never had a problem before.

Cool AXXIS on Rotoras?

Checkpoint - are those Ultimates you're referring to? I just unwittingly attempted to put a set on my Rotora front calipers, and the size was WAY off. Know of any other pads that fit as replacements?

I was running Ultimates until i wore them down. Good performing pad for the money except they dusted like crazy!!!

I've since switched to Hawk HPS. I've only put about 600 miles on them so far, but they seem to work well for daily driving. I'm going on the Mt. Hammy drive this sunday so I'll see how they are going up to the top and back down. They're more expensive that ultimates, but dont seem to dust nearly as much. With the ultimates I'd have nice thick dust layer in about 3 days of daily driving.

One thing I noticed with HPS is that when you first hit the brakes it doesn't have that initial feel like you're stopping (kinda scary), but once things warm up it bites down. Maybe it's just me...

EDIT: dang, old thread. I can't read well.

I really like my Project Mu Level Max 900's for mixed street & track use, even though they squeal a lot.

I can deal with the noise, its the performance which is so good.

They also don't make as much dust as the old Project Mu Titan KAI pads.

Alex what are these Winmax pads?

I've used ultimates and Ferodo DS 2500 pads and I plan on sticking with the Ferodo's. Both have great bite, Forodo's dusted a little less and have been more rotor friendly than Ultimates and both have been very quiet.
