My friend wants to sell me a set of rims for my 03 WRX and I believe they will work correctly from the research I have performed but I would like a second opinion. They size is 19x8 Lug Pattern 5x100 with a 45mm offset Tires 225/35/19.The reason I believe they will work is because the 8” wide compensates for the failure to be a 48mm offset.

they will rub ..... the offset needs to be a minimum of 48mm

Luke, I did a little more research and looked into the fitment on the vendor’s web site ((Konig wheels)) and they fitment guide said they would fit. I not trying to contradict your research and I really appreciate your time but could you please explain to me why these will not fit properly and rub. I would appreciate you input.

Do you know how slow your wrx will be with 19's on it?

It wont handle that well either. If you want a wide tire for grip then go with a 225 width on the 16 or 17" wheel.

the OE wheel:

when measured from the mounting surface:
outward edge of wheel 27.55mm
center line of the wheel sits 55mm inward
inboard lip sits in 137.55mm

19x8 ET35
using the same measurements
66.6mm
35mm
136.6mm

so the outer edge of the wheel is over 1.5" from where the wheel is now and the center line is almost an inch outward of where ist is supposed to be. these conditions will cause tire rubbing and changes in the scrub radius, ackerman angle and other steering geometry angles, that to me is unacceptable, and will hurt the handling. Not to mention the additional torsional forces on bearings and suspension components. ... these are the facts and I do not care what the Konig fitment guide tells you the wheel they list WILL NOT FIT CORRECTLY !!!!

on a different not, what type of dimensions should I be looking for in a wheel, if I wanted to get the widest tire possible on there in an 18" wheel. I currently have an 03 WRX with the full SPT kit, but I think I will switch the springs for H&R's to get a bit of a drop.
