Hi. I just got some 18"s to replace the BBS wheels on my 06 STI, and since I'm planning on putting snow tires on them, I only need to sell the tires. They are 3k miles used (new wheels mounted when I got my first oil change) with 90% tread remaining+ and even wear. Never driven hard or raced on. I don't absolutely have to sell them so no lowballing please. These tires cost over $200 each at Tire Rack. PM or email me offers. Local only in the Bay Area (or L.A. maybe).

I'm not trying to kill your post but assuming you're going to get anywhere near retail on used tires is going to yeild you nothing but disappointment. You'll be extremely lucky to even get $150 a tire.

I'm well aware of all the lowballing that goes on here, since I've experienced it every time I've sold things in the past, so I was hoping to avoid dealing with this by making it clear that I'm not desperate to give away these tires. Anyhow, I'm not expecting to get near full retail on them, but there are people that would get them at a reasonable discount, and not at an exorbitant discount. If no one values them enough, I will and just keep them in storage. I know how much it would cost to replace these, and they're awesome to drive on. I just wish I could get them in 18". Although I must say the Goodyear Supercar is more tempting.

^^ This is the definition of lowballing. Seriously though, with all that money, I bet you could some BRAND NEW Kumhos. Now those are some real tires...

Not lowballing at all and 070s are marginally better than almost every tire in Kumhos line. Granted Kumhos are a much better bang for the buck.

That's what I'm thinking. And 50% on a used tire is pretty standard. Basically if they aren't delievered from the factory your going to lose out.

not to bust your bubble, but i got my re070's used for 8k, all four for just $100 from some doctor in NY...yeah he's a doctor so he doesn't need the $..i got lucky

just keep em if you are not willing to sell them for less than 300

That's the point I'm trying to make. Even with only 100 miles on a new set of tires I won't anticipate any more than 50% of what I paid for them.

subiedon you got really lucky; most STI owners would rather wear their tires out than give it away for such ridiculous prices-he probably got sick of the road noise...

as for these tires being "marginally better than almost every tire in Kumhos line," -people seem to be drinking the kool-aid... to clarify, I was being facetious in mentioning Kumhos in that post

as for stated prices, you're all right, this isn't lowballing, this is being cheap- I love these tires; if it came in 245/40/18 I would not hesitate to purchase them - it's worth it to me pay me a premium price for performance that my life can depend upon, since I drive my car to the limit every possible moment it is not reckless to do so(I'm curious, what top speeds have you all reached in your STIs); but it seems that alot of others are willing to settle in this area to save a couple hundred dollars - anyhow, at least the PS2s I got to replace the RE070s aren't so bad; they come stock on a GT3

p.s. this post isn't meant to be for discussion - if you aren't willing to purchase these tires for a reasonable price, kindly keep your impecunious opinions in your wallet to keep your singles warm and toasty - I'd rather pay money and keep these in storage and will do so instead of just giving them away - besides, the stock BBS' will need tires when I trade in this 06 for the all-new Impreza line that debuts in '08
