projectwrx - rota doesn't offer 17x8.5 grids LOL
the spokes are different if you look closer and compare. they're thicker from the center of the rim, then get thinner.

i have some ray's gram lights and the center looks legit. i have some Volk's center caps and i'll give it the test..lol. these center caps do not fit Rotas because i have a set of Rota's too. I too would have taken the stickers off the rim. also, he works at Gruppe-S and if he were to try to scam people by selling Rotas, claiming they were Volk's, u'd see a thread like this: "Preston @ Gruppe-S is a scammer!!!!!!" "Sold Rotas claiming to be Volks!"

i don't think anyone was seriously thinking these were ROTAS, but anyways, real VOLKS are engraved on the badk of the hubs with "RAYS ENG" & also the bolt pattern--i.e. "5x100". I forget if the offset is engraved too, but I don't think so.
oh, and VOLKS have higher quality finishes than ROTAS.
ROTAS are still good bang for the buck .
bump for a sweet set of wheels at a nice price. (could get a couple hundred $$$ more if you had the purdy VOLK+Rays $ticker$ though)
