I just added some small thin driving lights to the unused little brake ducts in the front bumper cover. They produce a thin flat beam. I wired them to the factory fog-light circuit since I don't use it anymore. I only had to make one small custom aluminum bracket to make them fit. They actually fit great! They are APC brand with blue glass lenses. They added a noticable amount of light too, without blinding oncoming traffic...

whoa...those are definitely sweet. how long did it take you to do all the work? where did you get the lights and everything...? oh, and putting these lights in the ducts, does that cause anything bad? blinding on coming traffic is bad? :)

thanks

ps. nice job

part# APC 5125
cost $38.00 + shipping
at www.nopi.com
that's where I found them I think it's one of
the coolest mods I've seen. I have a MY99
and I keep my sti fog covers on all the time
now that I broke one fog light and haven't
been able to afford to replacement yet...
APC lights would be much cheaper if one
should meet a rock.

those are solid !!!! i always thought of putting some lights where the orange air ducts are, but you took it the next step. great job!!! where did you get the grill kit and what kind of fog lights are those? those dont look stock. i know its off the subject but your car is tight!!!!!!

I just hated the fact that those little ducts were there but had no function, so I installed the new APC driving lights there. The grill kit was from a group buy here on the i-club but I don't remember who the vendor was. The other driving lights I have are the PIAA XT80 Pro with pencil beam pattern. They are so bright it is insane. I don't even turn them on unless I am out of the city. I wired the PIAA's and the Morette high beams to come on together so I have 6 lights on when my high beams are on (both Morettes and the PIAA's). Looks like a 747 on final approach...

Where did you get those headlights (morettes?)? I've been looking for a pair... Also how much did they cost? was it on the same scale as WRX lights or is it a little more reasonable?

good work finding new and cool places to put a mod =)

hey looks good though. o yea... why dont u use your fog lights? anyway your grills look FAT ! what kind of material did u use, I have a 98 rs with the old school L front bumper( I got it aftermarket cuz it doesnt have those HUGE fog light holes) anyway im looking into doing a upper and lower grill mod like you have...any suggestions? and how much does that stuff cost?

I guess I could take some pictures of the bracket this weekend for you. All I did was put one longer bolt in the factory fog light bracket (bottom inside bolt) and made a little aluminum bracket to connet the new APC bracket to that longer bolt. It is hard to describe with words so I will take some more pictures this coming weekend and post them here...
