Nice runs. What were you actual mods on the 103.9mph pass?

When you take off the muffler, unbolt the exaust after the cat, not at the axle. Its easy to do at the track with the stock jack as long as your not too large.

What were your 60 foot times?

Well everybody knows that Doug ran 13.0 with Shiv;s stage 0. That uppipe, pully, boost controller, chip.

Thats the fastest I've heard of with just those mods.

I ran 13.3 with exhaust, chip, boost controller
stock everything else, stock uppipe, etc
And with 17'' heavy wheels

I ran 13.1@102.6, no nos, stock turbo.

That was with no timing adjustments and street tuned. With a dyno and a unichip (to adjust timing), I would have gone 12s on that setup.

How come he gets no respect? Because he ported his TB, had a chip and took a few more things out than you? I mean, common, he wanted to go fast, and he just took it a step above you.

Anybody running that fast deserves respect. Especially people who take it to the track. And people who don't give any respect to people running faster then themselves get no respect in return.

Not to be a doubting Thomas, but your ET and MPH dont match up. Most 12.8 runs are between 104-106. The fastest I ever went on that set up was 102.6 MPH with a 1.791 60' time, and it was the 13.1 run. Something doesnt sound right.

Hey, I know the ET sounds weird but sunday I ran a 13.7 @91.x!! 60' was like 1.8x, dunno I've noticed weird **** in the times and the trap speeds...I normally trapped 96-98 for a 13.7...dunno :)

ok... you get my vote.... my best cheap run, Joe P mbc @ 14.5 psi. $40, tenzo axel back $100, k/n filter $40, silencer mod free.... 14.053 @ 95.67 in AZ @ 105 deg..... much better now!!! it's only 80's in the day....

id say i spent maybe $1500 on parts...

all im saying is that im at mostly stock car settings, and running a 13.0 and 12s are possible... chips are major HP upgrades...
its not that i dont respect others times, but im just really happy that i can do the same thing on stock chip, and if i did have a chip i could do wonders...

on the 104mph pass i did a 1.7xx
that pass had the mods listed above, pump gas, low & spiking boost

i have heard of about 3 or 4 people in the low 13's and high 12's. this was over 8 months ago.

Nowhere near those times, but on the fastest for cheapest note:

I ran 14.09 @ 96.33mph for $0 (pulled hose). No weight removed (not even the spare)

you had the uni-chip in when you ran the 13.1??? i remember tuning the s-afc in your car on the way home from getting the vf30 put in... or i'm an idiot and you were running the s-afc and the uni-chip at the same time.

No I was only using the SAFC on the stock turbo. I was saying that if I had the unichip at that point, with the stock turbo, and had the timing adjusted along with the air/fuel, I would have gone 12s. Thats all. Looks like Miami did a number on your brain ;)

i wounder if my car can hit 12's if i get a good launch. ive never been to an actual track, they are to far and i never have time,but i have g-tech it and got 12.82 at 109 mph. is that believeable?

What do you American Guys class as a STOCK turbo what model is it?

TDO4 or IHI VF series or something else i just can't see anyone doing a 12 with a stock turbo infact i'm sure i have never heard anyone run a 12 in OZ with WRX with a TD04 turbo unless they have an STi which has a VF**?? then they might just get there.

stock US WRX turbo is the TD04...

the drivers seem to be gettn bettr & bettr here...

I have a VF22@17psi, Unichip,twin dump downpipe 3in ZoRst, waterspray,cold air intake which gives me 200hp@ the wheels in 4th gear 4wd dyno tested and the best i have ever done once is a 12.7 the rest were consistant 13.3 and 13.5's @100mph so i'm shattered that u can do it faster with a stocker.

how the hell did u only dyno 200Hp w/all that done? i dynoed at 230HP w/what ive got, and less boost...

There have been several posts over the last year or so on the various subaru lists, about dyno number here and abroad.

The chassis dynos in europe and australia tend to give more conservative hp numbers than is typical in America.

We don't make any more power here, just the differences in the equipment and how the numbers are computed by the manufacturers.

Strange how something as universal as dyno numbers can't be standardized, eh?

I guess when one figures a cm is a cm the world round, one would figure a ps is a hp is a kw (converted of course) - but I guess that's not the case. :(

I think the best thing to do is before you modify ur stock car get a Dyno run done (do it 4th gear) then once u modify or add bolt on's get another dyno run on the same dyno see what gains were made. When i seen what u guys were getting i was shocked but as hotrods says is just the way each manufactuer calc's the reading, and was proven here when a rex got dyno'd on Dyno Dynamics 4wd Dyno it read 180kw atw then on a Dyna Pack 4wd Dyno it read 200kw atw.

3rd gear is best for dynoing, not 4th...

Well here in Aus mostly all dyno runs are done in 4th as the ratio between engine and gearbox output are close to 1:1.

What I dont understand is why you feel like you need to tell everyone what you are running. And then try to talk down to people who are not as fast with more mods than you. All motors are not created equal. Its great that your car runs so good, but have respect for the guy in the Scoob next to you.

the only person i 'talked down' wuz that other guy who ran 12.9xxx, only because he was not really a 12sec street car as he claimed... he went all out drag for his runs, and i dont respect that as a street car...

and also, i wanna try to help other guyz get better times, cuz so far i have seen people run garbage w/bigger turbos

There is a guy on nasioc that goes by joe_white that ran a 13.01 he caught a lot of heat about it and the posts got nasty. People don't like to hear the fast times with minimal mods. I think it makes them feel like they got ripped on parts or taken on those "ADDS 25 HP" claims. I used to run old V8s and an engine is an engine get as much air in there as you can with the right amount of fuel and good spark timing and it goes fast. GMK

I respect that your car runs what it runs, but it does sound like you are bragging. And its one thing to brag and another to be the fastest stock turbo/fuel/ecu/etc. I respect that. And Im sure you will get into 12s with all the right variables helping you get there.

And, a compliment to you, you must be a superb driver. Good luck in your quest. Just have a little modesty and respect for your fellow Soob owners. We are all out here to have a good time and to have fun with our cars

So what is the verdict here? Does Magerum have the record with his 12.8 on the stock turbo non-N20?

Side note- I ran an 13.44@98mph with an 1.848 60' with an MBC, K&N panel filter, STI muffler(the one SOA sells). My um stock clutch ::cough:: was replaced at 30k miles with STI clutch parts.. all those clutch slipping launches catches up with you! hehe

Just f*cking around Hasan came back alittle while ago and seen u arguing with people about this, i think it goes like this

not all car are created equal.... My friend has a A3 GTi which is the body that is made btwn 93-98 or so...not the new ones... now mostly everyone with those cars go 14.8 with an intake, exhaust and chip.... my friend bought abrand new 98...he put the same stuff Intake, exhaust and chip and was going 14.3....

hassassin just has one of the factory freaks....

just like my old integra... all the car had was a cheasy $55 intake and a cheasy azz pressbent exhaust and it went 15.4... LS model no VTEC and yet brand new integras VTEC model are going 15.2-15-4 with same mods.... intake and exhaust...

Paul, i have no doubt in my mind u can pull a 13.0, its all in the launch. Last i remember, u told me you havent dragged before right? If you have, then what are your 60's? I'd luv to come down w/ya, but i HATE atco w/a passion. Im actually waiting for etown to open up, and ill be down there pretty much every day.

My best 60' so far is an 1.848, however that is with the stock clutch/flywheel and different mods(well less mods), it's kinda up in the air what 60' I would get, but i suspect I can get another 1.8 60'.

Interestingly my best time of 13.44@98 was with only an MBC, K&N filter, and turbo-xs-rfl BOV(which i have gotten rid of since then), and the SOA dealer option STI muffler(which I also have sold).
