Hey all ,
there are some events comming up being put on by a group I have run a few times with ( killed the rwd leg ver 1.0 with em too )
events are cheap and well staffed etc.

http://www.ncda.net/flier5.html

Dec . 11 - THUNDERGRIP

all grip driving on track, and some drifting on a cone corse in the paddock.

Jan . 8 - Grip and Slip

Track is split, half drift, half grip

the advantage for people wanting to run grip is that there is usually not a ton of grip guys there which translates into a decent amount of track time. Plus you can watch a bit of drifting too!!

for more info or to reg online go to www.ncda.net

It's not a bad price either. Might have to try for this event.

If there's other people out drifting on the jan 8th. I might make an appearance. I'll have Josh too. :D (I'm not drifting though)

Driving?

I'm considering it, if I can get some new pads in time.

sweet.

except I wouldn't want to drive on the track with stock pads, no matter how new they are.

I would like to make it to at least one... but Miatas don't exactly have an abundance of cargo space for a second set of wheels and tires, and RT615s probably aren't wisely used to cross Donner Summit in December...

Y not? Theyre not the best for racing but i dont think there would be a problem with them.

What do u guys think?

Wait, I forgot you're in an STi. Those pads should be decent. If you are fading them, then you should feel proud :D

I'm just thinking of all us sliding caliper guys. I easily faded my brakes at the end of my first track day (but not cause I was any sort of miracle driver or anything).

well, I'm trying to get into some track events, so if anyone else would happen to be going to the same events, I have a van that I could transport multiple sets of wheels in.

I sold my Subaru hitch, but I still have the Tire Tail and it's going up in the classifieds soon. ;)

I've been considering getting a small utility trailer to use with the Miata so I can haul tires, toos, jack, etc... but getting a tow dolly and pulling the Miata instead gives more space for hauling and keeps me from getting beat up by whatever suspension ends up on the car.
