Hello,

I have a Silver 02 WRX and I was considering getting a set of halogen Morettes. I had a few questions for anyone with Morettes installed on their WRX:

- Did you have them painted? If so, did you paint the entire fixture or did you leave some of the black showing? Links to pictures would be great.

- Where is the best place to purchase them? I was hoping to get a plug and play wiring harness with the lights.

- Any fit problems?

Thanks,
Burt

I have them on my car, I left them unpainted for a long time and finally had them painted completely in body color. They look ok either way although when painted to match they look more like an original part of the car. I don't have pics handy but there should be plenty here and on NASIOC of them unpainted, painted, and in various combinations.
As for where to buy them, Z1 is currently having a group buy for them which you can find in the Group Buy forum. The price is excellent and they are an authorized Morette dealer. They do come with the plug-in harnesses.

Did you just paint the top covering or have the whole thing, top and bottom painted?

Thanks

The entire cover. Some people like the "raccoon" look, I don't.

oh ok, i always thought that you just unscrewed the top part and only paint that

so just to be clear, even though you unscrew the top from the bottom, you have both parts painted?

i'm assuming a good paint shop can paint it and avoid getting it on the lens right?

Ok, need to clarify here-
The outer cover of the Morettes (the part that surrounds the lights, and that you actually see) is one solid piece. It attaches to the frame (the part that actually holds the light units) with 4 screws, two on top and two on bottom. For painting it is removed completely, painted and then reinstalled.
