So I buy a bumper off of ebay from a wrecked 04 sti and at the end of the auction the guy tells me its 500$ shipping from DHL.. Any of have the measurments/weight of their 04/05 sti bumper?

Hey, I don't know if this will help you or not, but I work at UPS. I'd assume DHL would ship it as an oversize package. Ballpark the width, length and depth, and then make a rectangle out of it. UPS goes by 130 inches total before its considered oversized, or at least it did when I delivered, might be more now. Then they usually charge a premium on top of a 30 lb weight, even if it doesn't weigh 30 pounds. Hope this helps. Also, you could probably call DHL and give them dimensions and see what they say. He might be sending it to you overnight, and that would cost a bundle.

the guy is just doing that so he can get full money for his bumper.. its probly alot to ship the bumper, but the auction probly only went for a small amount and he wanetd to make up for the loss of money in the auction by charging up the wang for shipping.. just a standard ebay seller....

Ya that's the thing with E-bay.. you can charge whatever you want for shipping that's were ppl make the money.

Tell him you wanna ship it by a trucking company. Find one and arrange pick up. It will cost you about 100 then.

The guy b/s you...no bumper cost $500 to ship, not even half. You know he's not going to ship it next day, must likely ground and packet the extra. Don't pay for it.

What did he put down for shipping costs in the auction?

I've shipped Complete Downhill Racing bikes for far less than that. My bikes weigh (on average) at least 45lbs, and the package is larger than that too. Somethings fishy here

550 for a good condition sti bumper? i say thats pretty good. all it matters is just the final price in the end for ebay.
