I'm looking at getting a in car DVD player and I'd like to mout it in an OEM gauge pod housing. it's 2" high 7.5" wide and 6" deep I'm pretty sure the height and depth are ok. will the width fit?

if not does anyone have any ideas?

there are a few people that are running these over on NASIOC, I don't remember their SNs but I know mattjk has a single din in his gauge housing and a LCD in the factory radio mount. he sells the setup on eBay for like $350 or so including the screen and the plastic around it. -James

yeah thats actualy the setup I'm going for...
I've seen lots of people with a single din mounted in the top but I think the with of a single din is 7" and this one is 7.5" I'm not sure if the pod up at top is din sized or just large enough to stick din items in there.

The OEM pod opening is ~6 7/8" by ~1 15/16". The width can probably be opened up another 3/8" if you're handy with a Dremel. The height can be opened up about another 1/16". The metal chassis that the pod mounts to has an inside dimention of 7". There are slots in the chassis, but I do not know if they match up with any mounting holes on a standard single DIN unit.

Actually, without modification, it will hold up to a 45mm gauge. 1 15/16" is about 49.2mm. Most 45mm gauges have about a 49mm bezel OD (45mm is the hole size).

Actualy I dont care about gauges... I'm getting an A pillar pod.... I want to use my OEM pod for a DVD player that is slightly larger than Din Sized.
