View Full Version : found blind kitten help me find a home
Anti-hero 09-24-2005, 03:10 AM 3a.m. this morning I'm Doing my paper route.
I find a 6 week old kitten placed IN a news paper rack stand.
upon closer inspection I thought some f#$#$ had poked the kitty's eyes out.
I tried to leave the kitty next to the rack.
I was too soft and couldn't. I took the cat to the vet.
Vet said it was born without eyes.
I'm Paying for shots antibiotics and having it wormed.
Currently she is staying at the kennel for a week of observation.
Other than being blind she is strong and healthy.
Likes people and shows affection feeds herself and drinks without assistance.
Please help me find her a good home.
The vet said these cats(born blind) can lead normal lives.
If you or someone you know is willing to adopt.
e-mail me.
Much thanks
jeff

LozSTi 09-24-2005, 07:18 AM You are going to have a good life, you are a lovely person for doing that, please someone help out. I would but I live alone and spend my life on the road. Good luck.
Mystic_88 09-24-2005, 09:52 AM I'll ask at work, I have some people who love animals.
kumaWRX 09-24-2005, 11:26 AM You can take it to the Humane Society. Good luck on finding a good home for the cat, very caring of you.
BlueHawaii 09-24-2005, 12:45 PM The Honolulu Advertiser has a adoptables article every sunday written by the Human Society...If you take the kitten to them...ask them about placing the kitten in the paper under this section. It would also make a great article for them to write about taking care of handicapped pets. Oh, it also gets placed online as well as the Sunday paper.
Good luck on finding the little girl a home.
bpang1 09-24-2005, 01:00 PM I'll ask my co-worker she loves cats...LOVES THEM!
One time when she went to pick up lunch she found a little stray kitten and picked it up and brought him to work. She then kept the little guy in her office for like 3 months.

Anti-hero 09-25-2005, 12:35 PM I'm going away on a trip and will return on Sun 10/2. But I will be checking my email periodically while I'm away.
The cat is staying in the vet's kennel untill next monday for any possible health issues.
I'll post a picture as soon as she is released.
She is a short hair black and white ... Oreo-like in color.
Seems to have an unusally long tail.
Exceptional hearing.
Likes to cuddle and likes the sound of peoples voices.
Is calm and very well behaved even when driven around (car or delivery truck!)
I think that it seems like she won't scratch furniture but she's still a kitten.
You can speak to my vet about caring for and training a blind kitten (she's very nice and informative.)
I'll pm you once I'm back and give you updates (if any) in the meanwhile. Thank you for stepping up. My wife & I think that this is an exceptional kitten and deserves to live.
Jeff

Anti-hero 09-27-2005, 12:26 AM My wife just talked to the vet.
Her assistants are calling the cat esp kitty.
They are amazed that the cat can track a hand sliently waving in front of her.
Playing like a normal kitty and is very friendly.
She is doing very well but still being monitored.
Thanks for the response.
I'll keep you posted.
