Well kind of. I got a replica mines spoiler and decided to mold it to my trunk. Here's some pic of the process:

Here , I had to cut away from the spoiler tio make it fit. Since it was a replica, it did not fit evenly.

The molding process. I decided to use double sided tape and JB Weld to hold it in place. I was going to place rivets but decided against drilling into the trunk.

More to come. I still need to fill in some tiny holes and more sanding needs to be done. I will be wet sanding the primer tomorrow.

Well, I started working on it this Monday after i got off work. I've been working on it everyday since then putting in about 2 hours per day or until the sun goes down. So on average, I would say so far it has been a little less than 10 hours. Today, I just finished the last of the filling of the holes and applied the final coat of primer. Next is to wetsand the coat of primer and it will be ready for painting. I still need to get the paint from my local finishmasters. Till then.....

Any issues with the bondo cracking from opening/closing the trunk?

Very good job man. I'm impressed for sure. How much weight did that add to your trunk.

hokusai

No cracking yet...hopefully it never will. I never slam my trunk hard. The weight of the trunk has increased slightly, yet noticeably. I dont know by how much.

I really like it.

How come you didn't mold the bottom of it? I guess perhaps no one would've known that there was a wing there.

hokusai

Thats exactly why i didnt mold the bottom. I like the "edge" that the spoiler gives on the back of the trunk rather than the top.

That's hot. I always wondered what a Mines spoiler would look like molded into place. I still want to see what it would look like if bottom portion was molded into place too to give it the one piece look.
