I just bought my 05 WRX a month ago. The maintenance schedule says after the initial 3k miles, oil change only has to be done every 7.5k miles. I am hearing everyone saying changing oil every 3.75k, so which interval should I go for?
Also, do you guys in the bay area have any recommendation on where I should go for oil change and maintenance? The cheaper the better. Thanks!

 

Oil changes really depend on your driving style, whether it be long highway commutes, track/dragstrip, lots of stop and go, short trips, ect... Synthetic oil can last longer intervals also.

I classify myself as moderate/severe use. Lots of short trips, some highway cruising and lots of spirited driving. I use redline synthetic 5w30 (cold weather) or 10w40(hot weather), oem filter and change every 4K - 6K miles depending on how I feel. I could probably go longer, but am hesitant to do so without oil analysis.
