since no one at your forster place is answering I'm posting it here...
Since the previous years of the forester were SG5/SG9/SF...etc. what do you call the 06 forester?

Car Info: 1998 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS
The 2006 Forester (X and XT) is still the SG5. If it were the Forester STi, it would be the SG9.
The Chassis is still the same, though the face is different. The SF Foresters Consisted of MY1997 to MY2001. There were two different looks...
The 1st generation SF5 Foresters had taillights that didn't continue onto the hatch like these:
The 2nd generation SF5 Foresters had these taillights:
Front:
Starting w/MY02, the chassis code was SG.
The Forester I have now is the 1st Generation SG5.
The STi version is called the SG9.
