What kind of BOV on the JGTC Cusco Impreza?

I have tried Google-ing the answer and searching here but was unsuccessful. Does anyone know what kind of BOV the JGTC Cusco Advan Impreza uses? It sounds kind of like a bird chirping/warbling, but I don't know my BOV brands by sound.

I just thought of a better word to describe to the noise the BOV I'm seeking made: "flutters". When it dumps, instead of a "whoosh" or whistle (which have a single tone), the noise flutters. I also recently saw the opening to a JDM PS2 Wangan Midnight game, and the main car (the "Devil Z") made the same noise. Maybe someone might be able to tell what it is now? http://www.paper-momo.com/hadesomega...anps2intro.avi

ya, i would bet no BOV that sound is part of the anti-lag system like on a wrc car. they have lots of money and can replace turbo every few races or every race it they want.

Oooh, interesting. I never heard of that before about ball bearing turbos. So where does the pressure go when the throttle closes? When the pressure bounces off the throttle plate, what does the BB turbo do with it? I can visualize the turbo using the returning pressure to keep spinning, but wouldn't it be going the opposite direction?

I always thought the wastegate was on the exhaust side of the turbine (to regulate how much it spins the intake side). So are you saying the pressurized air from the intake side is being vented through the wastegate somehow? Is that the unique design feature of the ball-bearing turbo that allows it to operate without a BOV?

Its an external wastegate. The wastegate is outside of the turbo housing unlike the internal wastegate on a WRX's stock turbo. The excess pressure can be relieved through the wastegate without going through the turbo.
