I looking at getting into a cheap, reliable AWD car, and the Impreza 2.2 keeps coming up in conversation. Does anyone have some first hand knowledge of these little cars on an autox course? My questions are:
What's it like to own?
Is it reliable?
Is it too small to be comfortable?

Right now, I'm driving a VW Cabriolet of all things, it's alot of fun and holds it's own on the autox course. I am to the point where a quiet car is desirable though, and my wife wants definately wants an AWD car next.

Any advice? I appreciate it!

2.5rs Sedan!!!!

im not sure if it would fit in H stock or G stock... but i have one and its got plenty of space and its a really nice car to drive, plenty of low end power for the autoX and it handles well. They go for any where between 10k-15k depending on year and milage, unless you look at a new car which i believe is 21k.

The 2.5 RS is a GS car. Most thought that the RS would not turn well enough to be successful in Stock (hence the STS movement) but Chris Harman (I think) did very well last year in ProSolo events with his. I think he ended up 2nd or 3rd overall. That having been said, it is a much better ProSolo car than a traditional autocrosser. The AWD launch is very important when no one else has a LSD of any kind. Bottom line, if you want to win GS for low bucks, get a Celica GT, want a AWD car you can have fun in, and collect a trophy or two along the way, the 2.5 should fit the bill.
