U.S. to give North Korea 50,000 tonnes in food aid

I like how they emphasize it has nothing to do with six-party talks :P As if it's merely coincidence. Too funny.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States said on Wednesday it will give North Korea 50,000 tonnes of food aid, saying its decision was based on humanitarian need and was not linked to efforts to end Pyongyang's nuclear ambitions.

"The United States will be donating, in response to the World Food Program appeal, 50,000 metric tonnes of agricultural commodities for North Korea," State Department spokesman Adam Ereli said, saying it was not designed to lure North Korea to six-party talks on ending its suspected nuclear arms programs.

Good. Politics aside, there are millions of people starving there because of their retarded government. Too bad it takes alterior motives for us to do something about it. Frankly, if we were justified in deposing Hussein, what are we waiting for with N. Korea? Are we that scared of Chinese involvement?

China is going to end up like Russia. Nothing to worry about. I was watching this thing on the Discovery Chan. It was interesting. Showed how the majority of China's population was senior citizens and they couldn't make it as a work force. Also, as a comparison how America's willingness towards immigration is keeping the bulk of our work force young and our economy vibrant and prosperous. Not everyone wants to flock to China like they do the U.S. They went on to describe how it's one of the keys to our success as a super power. Pretty wild. The mojority of China's population only makes about $25 week. Sure China has nukes, but it's people are starving and it's getting worse.

When we donate food who controls how it gets dispersed once it arrives? For all we know we could be feeding their military with the poor people still suffering.

China not a threat? Cheap labor + motivated young work force (which we DON'T have) = bad news for us. Our workers are overpaid (yes, they are), and the youngest generation is not as motivated as they should be.
