i was wondering how much a used WRX motor would run?? preferably under 25000 miles....the hard part is that i live in hawaii and not a lot of people here have the knowledge to do WRX to RS conversion....how much would it be to ship a motor?? i really wished i lived on the mainland where i can just drive to have my stuff installed ....thanx in advance

Being off-coast as you are, you might as well look nowhere but Australia for your potential STi engine and drivetrain, since overseas freight is a forgone conclusion.

Check out www.noztune.com.au
for example

believe it or not there are NO wrx motors at all....as far as i know there were only 3 wrecked wrx's till this day...unless i buy the whole car from the insurance company there is no way to get the motor...but i'm kindda leaning towards the JDM STi motors....primarily the version 5-7's....but finding one in sure good condition has proven to be a challenge....

thanx rentankonko!!

that has been very informative....i've already e-mailed them about the motors...hopefully the shipping won't cost me an arm and a leg...its even better since i can probably get the wiring diagram in english....so i won't have to kidnap a japanese speaking mechanic from somewhere ...thanx again
