JDM WRX GC8 swap...

Hello, I am TOTALLY new to all of this, so bare with me if this has been asked before (I searched and didn't find anything). I want to swap a JDM WRX engine from a GC8 into my 1998 2.5RS coupe. Can this be done? If so, can I get some links to more info and/or product sites so I can learn more? Thank you for your time, and I apologize again if this has already been asked. Just got my scooby, so I'm looking to learn. Thanks!

These guys can do them blind folded and can scource all the parts you need for it at great prices because its in Canadian $$, so you get a good exchange rate...also, their shipping is top notch.

talk to Ben or Julien, tell them Daniel K. reccomended them to you. You wont be disapointed with them, they live for this (htye also compete in canadian rally championships). Good luck.

I would contact Z-1 Performance. They can do the swap. You should be able to get a used WRX motor from a junk yard. Try this link for used motors www.car-part.com. Z-1 built my 2.5 RS that ran a 12.8 @108. Give adam a call.Z-1 can also get JDM motors. Adam was one of the first people to swap in a JDM motor to his own RS.

A JDM engine is by far cheaper... as the whole reason why the conversion costs so much is because the engine costs so much.

Though a JDM are much cheaper and easier to find. So it could be much cheaper to install.

JDM motors cn be found from 800-1500. I believe that installation is about 20 hours or so. I have also heard that people can get JDM swaps from ~$4000 on up.
I am sure that the price changes given your location, labor rate, and initial price of the parts.
