Getting Twin-scroll turbo?

Knowing that I would have to get the headers and uppipe to match, how hard would it be to get a twin-scroll turbo like the ones in the JDM STi?

I haven't even seen this setup run here in the good ole U S of A. You'd probably have to go through a Japanese parts importer like japanparts.com, or similar. You're going to pay out the ****, though. For that kind of dough you can get into a VF22 or 34 with lots of choices of headers and pipes.

Thanks for the info impreza. I'm not likely to be able to pay out the ****, but I was just curious if it was possible to find them.

anything's possible. Definitely post a picture of your setup if you decide to go that route.

Hey man, I just saw a legacy twin scroll turbo, plus all the piping and adapters you'd need selling for $1999 with shipping. Check out forums>for sale by vendors>new titanium legacy twin scroll turbo. Very cool.

It's on the Legacy- I don't think the STi is running it. It's too small for a 2.5 but would be excellent on an EJ20.

You're right about the U.S. version of the STi not having it, but I believe the 2.0L Type C STi does have the twin-scroll. And of course, there is the legacy.

Mine is on the way. I'll let ya know how it turns out. I got it from a friend that is changing his turbo on his version 8 motor.

I have installed the twin scroll turbo in my new face lift WRX.It is from a half cut JDM STI. I must say that it is worth the money; the turbo spool up at 1500 rpm, reach its maximum at 3750rpm and pull all the way to red line without any flat spot.by the way i am from Singapore.

I thought about twin-scroll as well, but I guess common sense say that I don't need to spend that extra money for twin-scroll if I keep the displacement at 2.5L - a traditional turbo would have spooled quick enough
