Don't bother. What's the point if you can only boost 5 or 6 psi max? There are a few who have been successful with it, (AWDImprezaL??), but not really worthwhile.

Hypothetically, if you are going to spend $4k on a turbo kit that will max out at 5 or 6 psi, you are just better off buying Hatteroo's swapped RS.

for 4 k you might as well just do a 2.0 wrx swap, the engine and parts should run you about that much total if not less

that is if you are doing labor yourself

just remembered now, there is a link on the very top of the turbo and forced induction section that is a long discussion about how to turbo your car for about 1k. have your friend go through it, theres a lot of good info in there.

4K is really the tip of the iceberg. It's pretty involved even at that. I am sure that salvator_rizzo can give you an idea how much time and work it is, not to mention some of the troubles you could encounter.

and don't forget those fun swap expenses...

"hey, while I do this, I might as well do this and this and this and this and this"

Which translates to:

"$$$$$$$$$"

tell your friend to save his money and get the car swapped if he wants more power. that would be the best solution if he wants more power, plus swapped gc's are the best
